Janelle is a primary teacher who contacted Education Personnel having heard of Education Personnel while completing her teacher training at Victoria University. 


 

 

"I heard about Education Personnel while completing my teacher training.  Registering with Education Personnel seemed like a good way of getting to know the schools in the Wellington region.  I wanted to make money before going on my OE and relieving with Education Personnel seemed a good way of making that happen.

When I first contacted Education Personnel they were really friendly, supportive and flexible. They were keen to get me involved and out  working as soon as possible. 

I have worked doing daily relief classes of varying ages and differing types of schools.  I find that my flexibility in teaching over such a variety school types and ages allows me to get more work on a daily basis with Education Personnel as they know I will accept almost any work they offer.   Although they regularly come to me asking it I am interested in long term work, I have declined these offers as I currently prefer the daily relief work.

As a relief teacher it is important to know that when I need work I can get it.  Education Personnel almost always have work available.  They have lots of client schools around the greater Wellington region which means they can accommodate  teachers from all areas around Wellington.  The text message service  Education Personnel provide, informing us of available work, means that teachers can choose on any given day to phone Education Personnel in the mornings to accept the work available, or to alternatively ignore the txt message.   Education Personnel are also great at advertising long-term and permanent roles that are on the go around Wellington  via e-mail, phone calls and/or txt messages.

I am very happy working through Education Personnel.  It is an excellent service with very friendly staff who are easy to talk to.  They are always interested in our experiences in the different schools, good and bad, which makes you feel like a valued part of the team.

I have a lot of respect for Bill and his staff  who I find to be well organized and  a professional team.  I will continue to work with Education Personnel until I am ready to take on a full time position.  I can highly recommend them - they make getting day  to day work easy.
