"Having
visited NZ a few years ago I was very keen to come over here to live
and teach with my family. Education Personnel helped us greatly to
realise this ambition.
The packing and paperwork were horrendous and I often asked myself ‘why are we doing this?’ but once we got on the plane the excitement took over. Having arrived in NZ we were greeted with bright blue skies and friendly people. Wanganui Collegiate School is tremendous and I am enjoying my job immensely.

| Adapting to a new curriculum is not
that difficult, children are children the world over and changes
to curriculum are part of every day life – especially if
you’re from England! Being English isn’t a problem
either, there are lots of British people as well as South Africans
in the schools, which gives a great cosmopolitan feel to the whole
society. The opportunities for sport and outdoor life are
neverending as they are also for cultural interests (The Lord of
the Rings exhibition is well worth a visit). You can still follow
the football results here without fear, but beware when it comes
to rugby and cricket, there is a lot of honour at stake!” Bozena Michalska, Deputy Principal - Wanganui Collegiate School
